#OAOrquestra
Did you know that King George II, King of Great Britain, had a composer at his court whose job was to write music for all his birthdays and for every New Year?
This makes us wonder: what music did the kings and queens of old listen to? We look at the English crown, one of the oldest monarchies in the world, in an exercise that revisits some of the most important and beloved compositions in history, written specifically to be enjoyed by the kings of their time, such as Handel's famous Water Music, or Beethoven's variations on the tune God save the King.
