Joaquim Moita was born in Moura, Portugal. He currently attends bassoon classes, with Arlindo Santos, at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa.
In 1998, he completed his bassoon studies at the Escola Profissional de Música de Évora, having received the highest grades.
He was a soloist with the Évora Orchestra and the Orquestra de Câmara de Cascais, with which he performed solo, not only in Portugal but also abroad, having participated in the 16 th International Festival of Iberian Music, in Badajoz, Spain.
Joaquim was accepted at the orchestra “Youth of the Mediterranean”, in France, having performed concerts in various Mediterranean countries.
He held the position of Principal Bassoon with the Orquestra de Câmara de Cascais, having been invited to cooperate with the Orquestra Gulbenkian, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa and the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa.
He studied with Arlindo Santos, Stefano Canuti, André Senedat, amongst others. Currently, he is Principal Bassoon with the Orquestra Clássica do Sul (previous Orquestra do Algarve).
